The Peak Tram is a funicular railway in Hong Kong, which carries both tourists and residents to the upper levels of Hong Kong Island. Running from Garden Road Admiralty to Victoria Peak via the Mid-Levels, it provides the most direct route and offers good views over the harbour and skyscrapers of Hong Kong. The Peak Tram began operation in 1888, making it one of the oldest funicular railways in the world. It runs between Central and the Peak, covering about 1.4 kilometers and climbing to an elevation of 552 meters (1,811 feet). The ride is steep, with inclines of up to 27 degrees, which makes the journey feel thrilling, especially when you're looking out at the city from tilted angles. The tram was recently upgraded in 2022 with new, modern cars to improve the passenger experience while maintaining its historical charm. At the top is the Peak Tower, which houses restaurants, shops, and the famous Sky Terrace 428, offering incredible views. Visiting the Peak Tower and Sky Terrace 4...
