Fremont Street has a fascinating history that dates back to the early days of Las Vegas. Established in 1905, it was the center of the city's business district and played a pivotal role in shaping Las Vegas into the entertainment hub it is today.

Fremont Street was home to Las Vegas' first casino, first telephone line, and first paved street in 1925, the area earned the nickname "Glitter Glitch" due to its  abundance of neon signs, showcasing the vibrant nightlife. In 1995, the Fremont Street Experience opened, featuring the iconic LED canopy and pedestrian mall, marking the end of auto traffic on the street. It's a place where history meets modern entertainment.

Fremont street has access to numerous casinos, bars, and restaurants, blending vintage Vegas charm with modern flair. Evolution of Fremont Street

Fremont Street has undergone remarkable transformations since its inception in 1905, when Las Vegas was founded. Initially, it was a bustling hub due to its proximity to the city's first train depot. 

Over the decades, it evolved into a vibrant entertainment district, earning the nickname "Glitter Gulch" for its dazzling neon signs.  Fremont Street's casinos have a rich history, with some dating back to the early days of Las Vegas. Golden Gate Hotel & Casino opened in 1906 as the Hotel Nevada, it's the oldest casino in Las Vegas. Fremont Street became the first paved street in Las Vegas, and in 1931, the street received the city's first traffic light, coinciding with the legalization of gambling. In 1941, El Cortez was opened, it remains the longest operating casinos in the city. Golden Nugget was the next casino built on Fremont street in 1946, it was one of the most luxurious casinos of its time. In 1956, Fremont Hotel & Casino became a prominent landmark on the street. These casinos played a significant role in shaping the vibrant atmosphere of downtown Las Vegas.

Binion's Gambling Hall: Famous for its poker history, including hosting the first World Series of Poker, this casino is a haven for card game enthusiasts.

Golden Gate Hotel & Casino: The oldest casino in Las Vegas, it combines historic charm with lively gaming options.

El Cortez: A favorite among locals, this casino offers a more laid-back atmosphere with affordable gaming options.

Slotzilla Zip Line

The SlotZilla Zipline is a thrilling attraction located on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. It's designed to resemble a giant slot machine and offers two exciting ways to fly.  This ride starts at 77 feet high and takes you halfway down the Fremont Street Experience (850 feet) in a seated position. 

For the ultimate adventure, try the Super-Hero Zoom (Zoomline), this ride begins at 114 feet high and spans the entire length of the Fremont Street Experience (1,700 feet), allowing you to fly superhero-style. 

Prices typically range from $49 for the Zipline to $69 for the Zoomline, with occasional promotions available. It's a fantastic way to experience the vibrant energy of Fremont Street from above. 

Viva Vision Light Shows

The Viva Vision Light Shows at Fremont Street Experience are a dazzling spectacle that showcases the world's largest LED canopy screen. 

Suspended 90 feet above the pedestrian mall, the screen spans 1,375 feet and boasts 16.4 million pixels, creating vibrant and immersive visuals. These free light shows run nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., starting at the top of each hour. Each show lasts 6-8 minutes and features stunning 3D graphics paired with music from legendary artists like Imagine Dragons, Katy Perry, and Tiesto. The canopy underwent a $32 million upgrade, making the visuals sharper and brighter than ever. 

                           

It's a must-see attraction that captures the energy and creativity of downtown Las Vegas. 

Concerts and Events

Fremont Street is a hotspot for concerts and events, offering a mix of free live music, special celebrations, and unique performances.


Every night starting at 6 PM, Fremont Street hosts free concerts on three stages, featuring local talent and cover bands playing hits from various genres. Downtown Rocks Concert Series is a summer tradition with performances by well-known artists. Past lineups have included bands like Seether, Sublime with Rome, and Rick Springfield. Fremont Street celebrates holidays like New Year's Eve, St. Patrick's Day, and the Fourth of July with themed events and live entertainment. Electric Vinyl DJ Series and Downton Hoedown are epic music events that take place on the street.

The vibrant atmosphere and diverse lineup make Fremont Street a must-visit for music and event enthusiasts.

Andiamo Steakhouse: Known for its premium steaks and Italian cuisine, located at The D Las Vegas.

Cat's Meow: Known as the "Best Karaoke Bar in the World," it's a great place for group outings and happy hour deals.

WE ALL SCREAM: A quirky venue combining music, art, and ice cream, with a fantastic sound system.
