HOW TO USE TRIPADVISOR TO BOOK TRIPS

Tripadvisor is the world’s largest travel guidance platform, helping hundreds of millions of people each month, become better travelers, from planning to booking to taking a trip. Travelers across the globe use the Tripadvisor site and app to discover where to stay, what to do, and where to eat based on guidance from those who have been there before. With more than 934 million reviews and opinions of nearly 8 million businesses, travelers turn to Tripadvisor to find deals on accommodations, and experiences, reserve tables at delicious restaurants, and discover great places nearby. As a travel guide company available in 43 markets and 22 languages, Tripadvisor makes planning easy no matter the trip type. In this blog post, I will show you how to use TripAdvisor to Plan your next trip to the process much easier and quicker for you.


The first thing you do, once you get to the Home Page, is type in the Destination where you want to visit. TripAdvisor makes the Search Bar easy to Find; it is located near the top of the page under the Category tabs, with a search bar. The Important tabs to make note of on TripAdvisor are Things to Do, Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Restaurants, Travel Stories, and More, where you can scroll down and find Airlines, Cruises, Flights, Road Trips, Travel Forums, Help Center, Hire a Trip Designer and Travelers' Choice.

Things To Do


After entering your destination, the next thing you do is visit the Things to Do tab. Let's just say for example you are visiting New York City. Under the Things to Do page, you will find Popular things to do in the City, such as Day Cruises, City Tours, Architectural Buildings, Walking Tours, Cultural Tours, Points of Interest & Landmarks, Museum Tickets & Passes, Half-day Tours, Theaters, Bus Tours, Self-guided Tours, Specialty Museum, Skip-the-line tickets, Full Day Tours, Historic Sites, Night Tours, Hop on Hop off Buses, Art Museums, Airport & Hotel Transfers, Special Offers, Churches & Cathedral, Top Picks, Likely to sell Out, Luxury & Special Occasions, Family Friendly, Classes & Workshops, and Theme Parks. The Next section on the page is Ways to tour the City, which provides top-selling tours on TripAdvisor. TripAdvisor also will give Recommended tours and activities tailored to your interests. Of course, TripAdvisor will give you a list of top Attractions in the city, according to the amount of visitors and ratings on TripAdvisor. 




Hotels

The Page you want to visit is the Hotels and Places, which included subcategories such as Traveler rating: Very good, 4-star stay, Breakfast included, Mid-range, as well as the top Hotels in terms of review on TripAdvisor. Two other sections you might find helpful under the Hotels tab are Hotels in popular neighborhoods and Hotels near the sights. On the left-hand side, it allows you to filter the search result by rating, Property Types, Amenities, Distance from Landmarks, Neighborhoods, traveler ratings, Hotel class, Style, and Brands. 


Restaurants

Whenever you travel, finding a nice restaurant to eat at might be at the top of your priorities. TripAdvisor has a page full of Restaurant recommendations with user ratings for reference. Sections on this page include Delivery available, outdoor Seating Available, Browsing by Food, Fine Dining, Local cuisine, Moderately Priced, Cheap Eats, Dine With a Local Chef, Coffee & Tea, and  Top Restaurants in the city. You can use Filters on the left-hand side to sort by Establishment type, Special offers, Restaurant features, Meals, Price, Cuisine, Dishes, Dietary Restrictions, Good for, Neighborhoods, Airports, and Michelin Guide restaurants.


Flights

While there are sites specifically designed for Flights, TripAdvisor does provide 100 great deals on flights to your given Destinations. TripAdvisor also will give you suggestions on popular airlines flying to your destination.


Travel Forum

TripAdvisor has a Travel Forum, where they write articles, which provide travelers with tips and suggestions. One of the useful articles on the Forum right now is on the best places to travel in May around the World from Northern Australia to North Africa. Dig into the best restaurants and bars, street food, and culinary hotspots around the world to find top Food and Drink spots in the world.TripAdvisor also has articles talking about  The most exciting destinations, experiences, hidden gems, and traveler faves to check out now. At the bottom of the page, you can keep exploring for articles, which give more tips and advice to travelers. Keep this page on your favorites, it is very useful if you plan on traveling a lot or you don't know where to go for your next travel destination.

Their Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best winners are decided by you: real travelers from all over, sharing real opinions and stories.


TripAdvisor is a very useful resource that travelers can use when researching and planning for trips. It has all the resources you could need on one site and will make planning for you easier.
