Hong Kong Express Flight Review

HK Express is a Hong Kong-based low-cost airline specializing in affordable travel across Asia. It’s a member of the Cathay Pacific Group and primarily operates out of Hong Kong International Airport. HK Express connects Hong Kong to over 25 destinations across Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. It's Low-cost Model focuses on providing competitive base fares with additional costs for extras like baggage, meals, and seat selection. Their Fleet operates an all-Airbus fleet, including A320 and A321 models, known for their efficiency and reliability. Book Early to get the best deals as possible, Add Extras carefully, as HK Express operates on a low-cost model. Travel Light to keep baggage fees low and to avoid paying extra for baggage. For my trip to Japan, I decided to fly HK Express from Hong Kong to Haneda Airport in Tokyo and then the return flight would be from Kansai International Airport in Osaka. This is my full review of my flight experience from the trip.

Flight From HKG to HND

HK Express operates direct flights from Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) to Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo, offering a convenient and affordable option for travelers. The Flight duration was approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes and the aircraft was an Airbus A320. I decided to fly to Haneda Airport since it's much closer to central Tokyo compared to Narita, making it a preferred option for quicker access to the city.  HK Express often schedules flights during off-peak hours for better pricing, so the flight I took arrived around 5:00am. The Ticket I paid for allowed for 1 Checked baggage, 1 Carry on, and a Personal Item; the total cost for two people was $849.00. Since I booked this flight through Capital One Travel, I wasn't able to check in online, so I had to check-in at the Airport. The Flight was what you would expect from a low-cost airline, the seats weren't me most comfortable, but there was ample leg room and it got me to my destination smoothly. I would say temper your expection of the Airline itself, it is exactly what you pay for and you know what you are getting into flying budget airlines. Don't Expect any Customer service or any in flight entertainment, what you can expect is to arrive to your destination safely and on time for a low cost.

Flight From KIX to HKG

The Return flight was from Kansai International Airport in Osaka and the Flight experience was basically same, but with one big difference. For the Flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo, they were not really strict on the carry-on items, maybe because the Flight was at 11:40pm and the airport staff in Hong Kong wants to get people checked in as quick as possible, but for the flight from Osaka, they were a lot more strict with what was allowed as a carry-on. The Flight from Osaka to Hong Kong departed at 2:30pm and arrived in Hong Kong at 5:50pm. The Flight duration was approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes and the aircraft was an Airbus A320. There was no difference in terms of the flight itself from the flight to and from Japan, it was a typical budget airline flight that was able to get you to your destination on time.
